While we totally get that this can be easier said than done (especially when you’re right in the thick of wedding planning and navigating restrictions), there are some practical tips and proven strategies guaranteed to reduce stress and anxiety before the big event.

From email organisation, wedding planning books, pre-wedding pampering, keep reading as we round-up the best ways to stay cool, calm and collected throughout your planning.

1. Get Organised
Good organisation is key for a stress-free wedding planning experience. We recommend taking a streamlined approach to your planning by creating a seperate email address for all things wedding admin, such as sourcing quotes and communicating with your suppliers. This will help you keep track of everything wedding-related in one place (and also allows you to “switch off” from wedding planning when you need a break!).

We would also suggest purchasing a wedding planning book, to start putting all of your information in the one place (plus, it looks super pretty!).

Here are our favourites available on Aisle;
1) Bride Business Pocket Planner Bundle - $84.90
2) The Ultimate Wedding Planner by Fox + Fallow - $59.95
3) Downloadable Guide - How to Write Your Wedding Vows - $14.99

2. Create a Mood Board
Before you do anything, think about what style of wedding you want to have? Create a mood board on Canva, and map out the vibe you want to create. It's super easy to do, and your future you will thank you when you are in the depths of planning.

You can purchase our mood board CANVA template here.

3. Consider a Wedding Planner
If you’re someone who gets stressed easily or has limited time to plan your big day, a wedding planner might just be one of the best investments you can make. Hiring a wedding planner will take a huge weight off your shoulders and allow you to spend more time enjoying your wedding prep, knowing that the finer details are being handled by a pro. Most wedding planners will offer different packages depending on your needs – whether you want somebody to organise the entire event from beginning to end, or simply need some extra hands to take care of set-up and coordination on the day.

4. Communicate With Your Suppliers
Good communication with all of your wedding suppliers is another essential tip to help you stress less before the big event. Make sure all of your suppliers are on the same page with your wedding day details, including bump-in and bump-out times, emergency contacts, venue access and wet-weather backup plans. We recommend creating a master “run sheet” with everyone’s contact details and a clear timeline of the day to ensure all of your suppliers have the same information.

5. Treat Yourself
Don’t forget to carve out some dedicated time for self-care and stress relief before the big day. Indulge in a spa session with your bridesmaids, start taking weekly yoga classes, practice meditation and get a good skincare regime started. Rest and relaxation time before your wedding is essential – you have our full permission to make it a priority!

6. Delegate Tasks
Delegating certain wedding planning tasks to your loved ones is absolutely okay (and sometimes completely necessary for your own sanity). You’d be surprised how many friends and family members are more than willing to lend a helping hand for those smaller jobs on your to-do list. This can include simple tasks like picking up your wedding dress, posting your invitations or delivering goods to the venue.

7. Surround Yourself in Calm
It’s a proven fact that our surrounding environment has a huge impact on our mood and stress levels. Plan to create a calming space on your wedding morning to help you kick things off on a relaxed note. Diffuse some lavender oil (and pop a few drops on your pillow the night before), drink a cup of peppermint tea, and create a “getting ready” playlist filled with your favourite feel-good tracks.

8. Schedule Some Couple Time
Our final tip – make sure you schedule some “couple time” during your wedding celebrations to soak it all in with your brand new hubby or wife! Your wedding day will absolutely fly by, so don’t forget to take a few quiet moments together to simply enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
